Fort Jackalope

Mommy had to go to Seattle for a conference so the boys made a sweet fort in the living room.

After it was built Jack decided on the name Fort Jackalope.

 This is no small fort!

Daddy couldn't wait for an excuse to bring out that freaky stuffed Jackalope.

Even Nate and Mickey enjoyed it!

After coming up with the perfect name, Jack decided on the rules... no pirates and no girls (except Susie and Claire).

I don't want to know what "lesson" Nate is being taught here.

The ancient "circling of the Jackalope" dance.

Making some needed repairs.

Tubin'

We had another awesome boating day with some friends of ours from Fresno.  This trip, Jack couldn't wait to get back on the tube - no bribing required!

 "Faster - Faster!!"

We may have gone a little too fast.  Jack got hit with this huge wall of water straight to the face - oops!

Allee and Matthew

 Show off!

Don't worry - I showed him right back!  It didn't end well :)

Bette Davis Eyes

So it's no secret that we tend to enjoy classic 80's hits - maybe a little more frequently than we realized.  A few months ago Jack announced that the awesome 80's song Bette Davis Eyes was our "family song."  It wasn't until he started singing most of the words that we decided we might be stuck in the wrong decade!

Happy 4th Of July

Happy 4th of July!

Nate was cruisin around the golf course waiting for his first fireworks show!

Jack was super excited about sparklers this year.

 Ahhh.....fire!!!

Jack and neighbor Ella doing fireworks.

Nate celebrating our friend Sophie's first birthday.

 Summersaults!

Big brother Jack is all about protecting his little brother from dangerous things - like stairs - and does this by carrying him away "like a fork lift."

I'm 10 Months Old!

If you zoom in you can see some of the 6+ teeth that ALL popped through last week!!

The Chicken Rides Again!

So we were only about a month late getting the boat, The Chicken of The Sea, out on the water but better late than never!

Nate's first trip in the boat!!

 Check out this cool dude!

Claire and Jack. When they get married later in life, their celebrity-couple-name will be "Clack."

It was baby Mary's first boat trip too!

 Susie and Jack clowning around.

Having some fun on the lake.

Yes, we did use Mary's floaty to put Nate down for a nap on the boat, what???? It actually worked really well after we built a towel-tent over him to keep the sun off.

After much encouragement (and the bribe of frozen yogurt) we convinced Jack to go tubing - and guess what - he LOVED it!

Some silly monkey faces to wrap up a great day.

June Update

Where oh where have we been???
The real question is where haven't we been - everywhere this month so that is why we are slightly behind on blog posts....here's some big updates:

No pictures, but we went to Cincinatti for a good friend's wedding so we first flew to Seattle to drop the boys off for a few days at Gramma Jean and Gramps' house. This was the first time Jack had flown where he was old enough to understand what was happening and he was very excited! The part I will remember most is when he came back from using the plane's lavatory. He sat down and exclaimed to the woman sitting next to us, "Guess what? I just peed up in the sky like a bird!"

We had our annual "Cousin Camp" around Memorial Day with Ryan's side of the family here in California this year!  Uncle Greg wanted to be the one to show Nate the wonders of ice cream...

"Dad, I don't know what this guy is selling..."

 "Here goes nothing."

"HOLY COW what is this heavenly wonder???"

"Ice Cream makes Nate a happy boy, Mom"

Uncle Greg and Jack swapping some tall tales.

A small glipse of some brotherly love!

Jack decided to enact some revenge on Uncle Greg...

 ...over and over again!

 That'll teach him!

We had a serious tractor driving competition complete with hauling a trailer and having to back it up!  Here is Jack taking a practice run with Grammy.

Even Mommy didn't do so bad for a city slicker!

 Jack sizing up the competition.

He made his run and kicked most of our butts!

And then there's this bad boy. Caught red handed!

So I'm already seeing a problem in our future: how do you get mad at that naughty face???

"I promise Mom, it wasn't mine!"

Jack eating cereal with this crazy big serving spoon - he is hilarious!

 The whole Lawler side.

Nate has been digging out Jack's old toys and loving them!

My friend, Alyssa, came down to visit us!!

And finally, Nate has been beefing up on his football skills.

All in all, it was a crazy, busy month!
