Superheros!

Jack asked to have a big birthday party this year and he wanted it to be a superhero theme.

Ryan and I stayed up late the night before making Jack's cake.

I have to admit I think it turned out pretty great!

All the superheroes got capes and masks.

The cutest little super!

Much to Jack's dislike, Mr. Freeze, the super villain, froze Spiderman, Captain America and Ironman in ice.

Our superheroes had to melt the ice to rescue the friends.

Then the party was infiltrated by super villains.  We used our silly string to take them down.

That wasn't enough though.  Jack took their punishment to the next level...

Jack and his cake!

Then the spray bottles got used for some real fun - water fight!!!!!!!
 Soaked.

The Phillips' got Jack these hulk hands and mask.  Just wait until Nate gets a little older - let the fighting begin.

 "Hulk Smash!"

 Don't make Hulk mad Claire!

Susie the smiling Hulk.

Auntie's 30 and Jack Plays Soccer

 So guess who's old???

AUNTIE TC - she turned 30 while she was down visiting us.

Jack and I woke up super early and covered the door to her room with balloons.

When she opened the door all the balloons fell in on her.  Happy Birthday Auntie TC!

 Super Sippers.

Jack joined a soccer team.  Saturday was his first practice/game/circus.

Check out that sweet uniform.  Nate is seriously jealous.

 Showing off his kicking skills.

 Going for the goal.

Go Jack Go!

I guess I should take a moment for honesty - these poor kids had no clue what they were doing out there.  We're planning to work on it this week and maybe have some better pics next week.

Birthdays and Bunnies

This year Jack's birthday actually landed on Easter Sunday. Baskets and birthday presents on the same day?!?!?!?!

My parents got in on Sat so we tried to break up the festivities by doing birthday Sat night. For MONTHS Jack has been telling us about what he wants for his birthday - "the Lego Mack Truck" and "the only Mack that William has."  William is a boy in his class that brought this "dream" Mack Truck to school for show and tell one day.  Amazingly, the nice people at Toys R Us have no idea which Mack this is based on Jack's detailed description of "it's the only real Mack from the movie Cars." Lucky for us, Jack found a picture of it online...

Opening Guido and Luigi from Cars

 "Wait - could it be???"

"Ahhh, it's the only Mack that William has!"

 "OH     MY     GOSH!"

"I can't believe I got the only Mack that William has"
(these are the actual direct quotes)

 Some books to enjoy.

And last but not least.... the Lego Mack.

Here are some random shots of Nate to mix this up a bit:

I have never met a child who likes to brush his teeth as much as Nate.

Easter morning the bunny delivered.

Nate got all the ducky eggs and did a decent job getting them into his basket.

Getting some help from Auntie TC.

That afternoon we went to Rick and Cathy's for Easter dinner.
 A rainbow perfect for Easter!

Nate's learning everything from his big brother... including how not to share... should have seen that one coming Jack.

 "Higher Gramma Jean."

 Bunny Boy

 Chasin' chickens

Oh yeah - and we did this...

Yep - I got a gun and yep, I got my mom and sister to shoot it.

Turns out - TC is a sharp shooter.  Watch out!

In other news - that fabulous day April Fools came again.  This year I had a spontaneous inspiration when Ryan called to tell me he was on his way to a dentist appointment....
Oh Yeah - I got him GOOD!

Some other random things:

Jack opened the swimming pool for the year.  Yes it is cold.  Yes he stayed in for a ridiculously long amount of time.  He was being a dolphin.

 Driving together.

And we've been feeling a little under the weather but hoping to bounce back after an exciting week.
