"Here Kitty, Kitty..."

Our poor cats. Jack has really taken a liking to them lately. Charlie is still young and can escape when she gets too much "loving attention" from him. Itchy, on the other hand, is at least 217 years old in cat years, has been hit multiple times by cars, broken his tail, been poisoned, had a near-death abscess that required a cone (That's right, I said a cone... for a cat...) and has been so near death that when I was in college my dad had to feed him tuna fish juice from a syringe to keep him alive. Twice. Basically, he's used up at least 23 of his nine lives. Jack was just what Itchy needed for his retirement! I love his expression at the end of the video: "$%&@!# humans!"

"Is it okay if I pet Charlie, Mom?"

"Oooooooh, she's so soft."

"Her face is squishy!"

"Look how much she loves me!"

Jump-a-Roo Jack

I've been meaning to try and get a video clip of Jack in his Jump-a-Roo. He goes totally bonkers in the thing! At his six-month checkup this week, he was still in the 98th percentile for height but continues to slim down and is now 65th percentile for weight. Nobody should be shocked at that, though, after watching this crazy cardio-workout!

Gearin' up for Halloween! Don't worry, this is NOT his Halloween costume. That's a surprise for later...

Dinosaur Jack

We thought maybe the growling was just a phase because he hasn't done it in quite a while. Well, it's apparently evolved and come back better than ever! Here's a funny little video of Jack doing the whole dinosaur thing again:

By the way, it has occurred to us that most all of our videos depict Jack as a streaker. It just so happens that most of his "funny times" are right after a bath when he's only in a diaper and crawling around. WE DO ACTUALLY PUT CLOTHES ON OUR KID! To prove it, I have searched through the vast array of picture files and have located some showing a well-dressed Jack.

See- here's one from August and, appropriately, he's even wearing a super-cool dinosaur hat!

We even fully-dress him for swimming!

And if that doesn't quiet the critics, this should be more than enough proof that Jack wears clothes! You may remember this killer outfit from back in April!

Break the Egg

Do you remember jumping on your friend's humongous trampoline when you were a kid and nearly killing yourself as your "friends" attempted to "break the egg", sending your tucked-in body rocketing 30 feet into the atmosphere? Lucky for us we landed back on the trampoline instead of the driveway and are still here to tell the tale!

Jack figured this game out right away and I think it is so funny that he instinctively knew to "assume the egg position"! If anyone is worried about a scrambled egg, you should see what he does to himself in his jump-a-roo... this is nothing!

The Spit-a-Thon

Just as my Grandaddy Lawler taught me nearly 30 years ago, my mother has now taught Jack how to "spit"... and he is a HUGE fan. Thanks, Mom- Grandaddy would be proud!

Ryan Gidley's Wedding

Amy's cousin, Ryan, got married this past weekend so we flew up to Tacoma. Jack made the flights really tough, but it was worth it!! Although it was too short of a trip, we had a great time seeing everybody again.

Can you believe he's only 6 months old??? What a handsome little man!

Jack was not too sure about the whole party thing at first, but quickly figured things out!

Proud parents of the groom- Amy's Aunt Kathy and Uncle Craig.

The happy new couple- Ryan and Mandy: Get used to this picture, guys. I hear the mother of the groom wants grandbabies NOW!

Jack LOVED corsages and couldn't leave them alone. Although we never got a picture of it, he ate half of his Great-Grammie's corsage when she was holding him!

Jack and Ryan

This was Jack's first experience with a PG-13 show!

We couldn't start the party without Auntie T.C. on the dance floor!

Jack loved dancing with Auntie T.C.- especially once he found her joystick controls!

Check out this video: So You Think You Can Dance?

Everyone cuttin' a rug.

As the night progresses, Amy inevitably turns into a robot. (Wine seems to expedite this process...)

"PLEASE! NO MORE DANCING!"

Back to Tacoma

All the other pictures from our Tacoma trip!

Learning to ride on Gramps' shoulders... Gramps looks a bit concerned about this idea!

Catching a quality snooze

Gramma Jean has been so excited about finally getting to feed Jack herself. We warned her about what a messy eater he is!

She hardly got any food anywhere! How does she do that?! Must be Super-Gramma-Jean powers!

Another snooze with Great Granny Franny

Jack thought this laughing toy dog (that never shut-up!) was absolutely hysterical!

It was still just as funny the next day!

Carmel

Amy's Aunt Debbie and Uncle Mark were good enough to have us over for a weekend to share a cottage they had rented in Carmel, CA. The house had a ton of character and was only a few blocks from the beach. We spent most of the time walking around and just catching up. One night, we even stayed up until 2:00 A.M. talking! Remarkable, considering we are still new parents. Jack loved Aunt Debbie and thinks Uncle Mark is funny (looking)! Thanks for having us!

Hanging out in the kitchen watching Uncle Mark do the dishes- what a deal!

Being a responsible father...

...not realizing my son is devouring a paper napkin!

Playing airplane with Jack. Fortunately, this did NOT result in the "airplane" losing all its "fuel"! Baaaaarf!
