Even though we celebrated Halloween last year with Jack, this was really the first year that he started to get into it. He was Buzz Lightyear from Toy Story. While we were putting our costumes on he kept saying, "Buzz, Buzz, Buzz" so I know he was excited and understood who he was. We did some actual trick-or-treating. Jack wasn't interested in getting candy but some houses had cats inside and Dad had a great time trying to get Jack out of strangers' homes.
"Can we use power tools to carve the pumpkins?"
"You rip guts out of pumpkins?"
"I'm not sure Mom is going to like this year's theme."

I tried some new recipes for pickled brains and roasted eyeballs - delicious!
