Fiesta Time

Jack's Godfather, Doug, is turning 30 and there was a full blown fiesta for him this weekend. Most of our pictures were taken with other peoples' cameras so we hope to get copies to share later but here is a sneak peak of some of the festivities.
" Hmmm... I kind of like this salsa stuff!"

"A sombrero to go with my poncho."

"Alright, do I look authentic now?"

Can you believe this stupid mask keeps showing up....and now it has a mustache?!?!?!

Painting Party

We finally got around to getting the inside of the house painted. I couldn't stand to look at the hospital-white walls any longer so we got out our brushes and painted all weekend. Everyone got in on the action... even Jack! What, you think I am crazy to let my 17-month-old run around helping me paint a wall... red!?

"Seriously- I can paint on the walls?!?!?"

Look at that tongue-out concentration.

Really getting into it here.

Red... the best part!

Jack the Entertainer

Jack has really developed his musical talents and enjoys performing for Ryan and me.

Watch him compose his original piece while dancing..... what a performer!

Show off.

(By the way...that is red paint all over his legs in case you are wondering. See the Painting Party post)

Update

We haven't been updating very frequently so here is a bit of what has been going on in the McGuire household:

We are going through some super teething - big molars coming in and causing all kinds of pain. Hopefully this will pass soon!

He can point to all of his facial features plus his belly button. He has learned the word truck and points to any one of them he sees in the parking lots. Other words / phrases are: lawnmower, bad dog (with finger pointing action), Momma and Dadda. We think we might have heard milk today. He has also become very proficient at nodding or shaking his head. My personal favorite is when he shakes his head no right before he does something he knows he isn't supposed to.

We spent some time with our friends Andy, Allee and Matthew. Matthew is 3 months older than Jack exactly and it is great to get the boys together to play.

Ryan read some "Goodnight Gorilla" to the boys. Obviously he was not doing the voices correctly.

Matthew introduced Jack to slides - WOW - the best time EVER.

We are getting ready for Halloween (yes I know it is early but you have to order these costumes so far in advance now!!!)

Introducing.....

Buzz Lightyear - Space Ranger!!!

"To Infinity and Beyond!"

Is that a neighbor in need of rescue???

"Come in Space Command... This is Buzz Lightyear requiring immediate assistance... I am uncertain as how to navigate this martian terrain."
