Cayukos Wedding

Some family friends got married on the coast last weekend and we made it a whole family affair!

Get this - they had the A&W root beer float truck right there at the wedding.  The boys were in heaven!

"Don't even think of kicking us out of here..."

Jack, Gabe and Christina with some pre-ceremony drinks.

And now - a love scene...

He was hanging in there pretty good for how late it was.

But this guy was having no problems staying awake!

 Nice moves Jack.

I'm not sure which one of them is in trouble in this picture.

Definitely a "Naughty Nate" lecture going on:)

Jack was quick to jump in the conga line.

Notice he's the only guy??? Doesn't seem to bother him one bit!

Jack quickly made friends with some older boys at the wedding reception.

They had sweet dance moves but we wondered if they were a good influence on Jack...

Hmmm...  helping himself to some more root beer....

"What a day, what a day."

Yep, that's Jack getting busted with his root beer.

"But Dad, all the cool kids were doing it!"

Indiana Jack

The next morning we hit up the beach before heading home.  Yeah, it was about 70 degrees in November!

 Slide time

Look at the troll under the pier!

Worst part of the day - cleaning up.

"Mom, HELP ME!!!"

Grammie

This month we lost my Grammie.  Her funeral was a very sad day for us all, but Jack, in his typical fashion, was there to make us smile again.

This was his first time wearing his new suit and he was quick to let us know he was now a grown-up "just like a Dad" while wearing it.  He spent the first part of the morning informing the room of "how to sit like a grown-up."

"Uncle Brian, that's just not right.  You need to sit like this."

 "Much better!"

 Nate-Monster!

So on Halloween night Nate just wasn't feeling his Jake and Neverland Pirate costume.  That would actually be putting it mildy.

So we said, "Fine - you're going as a teenager then."

Once Nate figured out he gets candy, he was all in!

Party Fun

This summer was birthday time.  First, our good friend Mary turned 2 and had a Tinker Bell party.  What nice friendly fairy party would be complete without a party crash by Captain Hook and Jake the Pirate?

Mary, the birthday girl.

At first Nate wasn't loving the whole costume idea but after he saw how handsome he looked in the mirror we couldn't get it off him.

Now that Nate is getting bigger Jack loves to wrestle him on the carpet.

Then it was Nate's turn to be birthday boy.  We had a monster bash.
I couldn't decide exactly what I wanted the monster cake to look like so I made two.
