Every year the World Ag Expo happens in Tulare. It is during the week and I'm usually working so I've never been able to go. I decided to take the day off and experience it with Jack while he is still madly in love with tractors.
The show did not disappoint. Right inside the door we found a nice excavator to sit on.
"Oh baby this tire is as big as me!"
The Antique Farm Show booth let Jack get behind the wheel.
What a natural.
"Whoa...this tire's twice as big as me!"
"Holy cow! They keep getting bigger!"
Then we made our way to the big boy tractors. Believe it or not, they let kids totally climb all over these monsters!
God Weasel and Claire got into the action too.
I believe the exact quote was, "Wow, those are nice treads!"
"Look Ma, no hands!"
Driving beasts like these takes a lot of concentration.
"Hi everybody. I'm at the show too!"
We couldn't wait to find a nice skid steer to control.
Jack and Claire going for a joy-ride.
He told everyone who commented on his hat that he was a John Deere boy.
Nate's demanding to get on the tractors next year.
And then we found this guy - the BIGGEST combine harvester we have ever seen!!!
Once again to my amazement - they were happy to let Jack climb up there (all those stories high) and give it a test drive.
A local newspaper was so impressed with Jack's knowledge of this machine that they took pictures of him driving for their paper and fair advertising. So look for our famous farmer in the Turlock Journal and maybe the Stanislaus County Fair.
"This is better than Disneyland!"
Sometimes a little farmer needs a lift.
"Beam me up, Scotty."
More excavators!!
They fired this antique motor up - it was SO LOUD but totally awesome!
