Big News

So the big news is Baby #2 is on its way! Due date is September 27 but they are considering bumping that up a week to the 21st.

The most important thing about the ultrasound picture below is that you only see 1 baby. Some of us were having freaky psychic episodes and I was becoming convinced there would be 2 in there. This was not helped when my Aunt Debbie agreed with me on the twins premonition thinking. I'm happy to report that I will not be giving up my day job to become a fortune teller!

To The Park

The weather was pretty nice and Amy had the day off for Presidents' Day, so we headed for the park! We even had ice cream after we were done playing- what a day!

"You know, the top of the slide is actually a lot higher than it looks from the bottom of the slide..."

"Don't push me- I want this decision to be on my own terms."

"That slide was INCREDIBLE! Again! Again!

 "Cheese!"

The following pictures require no caption. Pure happiness!

"Play! Car!"

"Play! Car!" That's what Jack says when he wants to blow a half-hour pretending to go on a road trip.

 "Safety first!"

"Show me again how to double-clutch it, Dad."

"Ooooooo- so that's where the key goes!"

"And I have the keys!!! Ha ha ha!"

Jack Starts Earning Rent

With nicer weather fast approaching, I decided I had better get going on some yard work before things got out of control. I started by mowing the lawn while Jack was taking a nap. I guess he heard the lawnmower fire-up and, as the old saying goes, "like a moth to the flame..." Jack escaped and weaseled through the dog door, still sporting his dragon pajamas, for some glorious mowing action.

The lawn was still pretty muddy from all the rain. Nope- those are not shoes. But once the damage was done, I figured what the heck.

He pushed his mower around the lawn until I had finished. But when I shut the motor down, he demanded that I follow him. Apparently I hadn't done a quality job. And no, I could not simply push it behind him, the engine was REQUIRED to be running the whole time. Wasted gas or cranky two-year-old? I stand by my decision!

Constantly checking to make certain I wasn't cheating.

These were just some funny pictures of Jack riding his rocking horse that Gramps made for him a year ago. It's still a favorite, Gramps!
